MENTION OF EAST AND WEST IN THE QURAN
The Arabic words have multiple meanings, just like the Ayaat in the Quran have multiple f acts These multiple meanings and facts are part of Allah’s plan, as they may contain references to past and future discoveries. It’s important to understand these meanings to avoid confusion. In the Quran, there are three verses that mention the sunrise and sunset. One verse uses the singular form of east and west, another uses the dual form, and the third uses the plural form.
55:17
سُوۡرَةُ الرَّحمٰن
رَبُّ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقَيۡنِ وَرَبُّ ٱلۡمَغۡرِبَيۡنِ (١٧)
[He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets.
70:40
سُوۡرَةُ المعَارج
فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡمَشَـٰرِقِ وَٱلۡمَغَـٰرِبِ إِنَّا لَقَـٰدِرُونَ (٤٠)
I do not need to swear by the Lord of the eastern and western regions that We have certainly all the power
2:115
سُوۡرَةُ البَقَرَة
وَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقُ وَٱلۡمَغۡرِبُۚ فَأَيۡنَمَا تُوَلُّواْ فَثَمَّ وَجۡهُ ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَٲسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ۬ (١١٥)
And to Allah belongs the east and the west. So wherever you [might] turn, there is the Face of Allah. Indeed, Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.
SCIENTIFIC COMMENT
The Sun “rises in the east and sets in the west”. However, most people don’t realize that is a generalization. Actually, the Sun only rises due east and sets due west on 2 days of the year — the spring and fall equinoxes! On other days, the Sun rises either north or south of “due east” and sets north or south of “due west.”
Each day the rising and setting points change slightly. At the summer solstice, the Sun rises as far to the northeast as it ever does, and sets as far to the northwest. Every day after that, the Sun rises a tiny bit further south.
At the fall equinox, the Sun rises due east and sets due west. It continues on it’s journey southward until, at the winter solstice, the Sun rises are far to the south as it ever does, and sets as far to the southwest.
Many, if not most, prehistoric cultures tracked these rising and settings points with great detail. If they had jagged mountains along the horizon, the exact points could be readily remembered. Without a suitably interesting horizon, standing stones could be arranged to line up with the various rising and setting points. Or, tree poles could replace the standing stones. Or, rock cairns could be used.
After the discovery of that the Earth is spherical, it became evident that in every moment there is a point where the sun rises from and another point in the West where the sun sets. When the sun rises on a specific point on earth it sets in another point on the West. This is due to the earth’s rotation around itself. Therefore, there is an infinite number from East and West points.
This fact is alluded to in the Glorious Quran Surat Al-Maarij 70:40, ‘Now I do call to witness the Lord of all points in the East and the West …’ All glory is due to Allah, the Almighty
Therefore using these words in singular, dual and plural is not at random but there is a meaning.
NEW DISCOVERY
The below Ayat uses the words East and West as Dual.(In Arabic the words can be changed according to the Numbers. Singular, Dual and Plural) The words MASHRIQAYNI nad MAGHRIBAYNI in the below Ayat have a meaning of “Two Wests and Two Easts.
From the above comment we have expalined the reason why these Ayat uses these words in singular, dual and plural. We now understand the Scientific reason why Allah uses these words in 3 different forms.
Now as I have mentioned above the below Ayat has another new fact. And below I will present a Slide which will show you another Miracle. Which is a New Discovery by NASA. Slide 1-3 Planet Kepler-16h in the Quran
The Slides are Self Explanatory. Allah has used the Dual Word East and West means there are two Points of the Sun Rises and two Points of the Sun Sets on the New Planet discovered Recently known as Kepler-16h. Its Strange that The name Kepler 16h correspond to the 16 Ayaat (verses) From the beginning of Surat Number 55 to the Ayat Number 16 Just before The Ayat Number 17 which mentions Dual Easts and Wests as if these 15 Ayaat pointing to The Ayat number 17. This is First Hint. And if we count between Ayat Number 17 which mentions East and West and the Beginning of the word Al-Ardh (Earth) In the Ayat Number 29 we get 245 Arabic Letters corresponding to the Distance in light years between Earth and Kepler-16h. And this is the second Hint!!! proving that This Ayat (Verse) is giving us another Information on Kwpler-16h Allahu Akbar (God is Great). So this Ayat Tells us about Kepler which was discovered recently. Really Quran is one of the greatest miracles of all times!!!!!

Between the Word Al-NAJM (Star) on Ayat (Verse) Number 6 of the same Surah and Ayat (verse) Number 17 which mentions 2 Easts and 2 Wests there are 229 Arabic letters corresponding to 229 Days of the Kepler-16h Orbit around it’s x2 Stars (Suns). So This is the 3rd Hint (Proof) That this Ayat is pointing to the Kepler Planet which is just recently discovered. These Proofs confirms that Quran is 100% Genuine and It’s the word of Allah.

Scientists Tells us that Kepler-16h (New Planet) is situated in our Galaxy (The Milky Way) at 17 Degrees, 21 Minutes and 58.1 Seconds and Quran has Hinted this measurements as below:
The Ayat (Verse) which Speaks about the New Planet Kepler-16h is:
Number 17 / It has 21 letters/ 58 Words from the beginning of the Surat (Chapter 55) until the Ayat Number 16 just before the Ayat about Kepler. So we have exactly same as the Galactic Measurements.
