Surah Al-Anaam Number 6 Ayat Number 124

Between These two phrases you can supplicate Allah with all your needs. In other words you can pray and ask Allah whatever your needs are. First recite the first part and then Make your Dua (Prayer) and then finish the second part here below.

Remember it’s between the name Allah mentioned twice in this Ayat.

Translation:

And when a sign comes to them, they say, “Never will we believe until we are given like that which was given to the messengers of Allah.” Allah is most knowing of where He places His message. There will afflict those who committed crimes debasement before Allah and severe punishment for what they used to conspire.

Comment:

This Ayat (Verse) is special as Allah is mentioned twice. This Dua is not from Hadith of Prophet Mohamad but from one of the prominent scholars of the 15th century and is considered one of the greatest Quranic reciters in Islamic History.

The mention regarding the acceptance of du’a (supplication) between the two names of Allah mentioned in Surah al-An’am is attributed to Imam Shams ad-Din Abu al-Khayr Muhammad ibn Muhammad al-Jazari, a prominent Islamic scholar known for his contributions to Quranic recitation and Islamic jurisprudence. His work, al-Hiswn al-Haswin, discusses various aspects of Islamic theology and practice, including the significance of invoking Allah’s names in supplication. 26 November 1350 – 2 December 1429), also known as Ibn al-Jazari (Arabic: ابن الجزري) was one of the prominent scholars of the 15th century and is considered one of the greatest Quranic reciters in Islamic History. He was a distinguished and prolific scholar in the field of the qira’at of the Quran to whom al-Suyuti regarded as the “ultimate authority on these matters”. His works on tajwid and qira’at are considered classics.[10] He was a noted authority in hadith science, Islamic jurisprudence, history, and Arabic.

The Specific Reference

In al-Hiswn al-Haswin, Imam al-Jazari cites that many scholars (‘ulama), including Shaykh Imdad al-Maqdasi, have affirmed that any du’a made between the two names of Allah found in Surah al-An’am is assuredly accepted. This assertion emphasizes the importance of timing and context when making supplications, particularly highlighting specific verses from the Quran that hold significant spiritual weight.

Surah al-An’am (Chapter 6 of the Quran) contains numerous references to Allah’s attributes, and it is believed that invoking these names during du’a enhances its efficacy. The exact verses referred to by Imam al-Jazari are often interpreted as pivotal moments where believers can connect deeply with their faith through sincere supplication.

Scholarly Consensus

The consensus among scholars regarding this practice stems from a broader understanding within Islamic tradition that certain times and places are more auspicious for making du’a. The belief in the acceptance of prayers made at specific moments or under particular conditions is well-documented in various hadiths (sayings of Prophet Muhammad) and scholarly works.

Shaykh Imdad al-Maqdasi’s endorsement adds weight to this claim, as he was a respected figure in Islamic scholarship. His teachings often emphasized the power of sincere prayer and the importance of aligning oneself with divine attributes when seeking assistance from Allah.

The mention by Imam Shams ad-Din Abu al-Khayr Muhammad ibn Muhammad al-Jazari (r.a.) regarding the assurance of acceptance for du’a made between the two names of Allah in Surah al-An’am is documented in his work al-Hiswn al-Haswin, supported by confirmations from other scholars like Shaykh Imdad al-Maqdasi. This reflects a broader theological understanding within Islam about the significance of invoking divine names during supplications
